True Blue

True blue golf club's fairways wound their way around an ancient indigo and rice plantation, making it one of architect mike strantz's early projects. True blue was just the architect's fourth golf project to open for play when it opened in 1998, four years after the course at caledonia golf & fish club opened next door.

The short par three 11th hole (playing 184 yards from the back tees, with the tee shot required to bring an enormous waste area to a skewed hourglass-shaped green) and shallow par fours at the 8th and 13th holes, where birdies can be made but only with careful consideration (and execution) on both the tee shot and the approach, are among the many highlights.
