Innisbrook (Copperhead)

USA

While the course formerly known as the sandpiper is now part of the north and south courses, the innisbrook resort's golf courses were constructed between 1969 and 1973. The island course, which was newly redesigned and lengthened and has hosted several u.s. opens, is the resort's second-best layout. Accessible qualifying and ncaa tournaments are held, but the title, tournament level, copperhead, is the game that everybody needs to compete.

âĢľbecause the course's clubhouse is on a slope, the first and tenth holes are downhill, while the ninth and eighteenth holes are back uphill. The course is well-trapped within, with all traps clearly evident. Water comes into play on five holes, but most of them can be played with bailout shots for medium and short hitters. The greens are slightly slanted, making straight-in putts impossible. The approach shot must be close to the target in order to make birdies. The 4th hole necessitates one of the course's most accurate close shots. The hole is hard, but lovely! âĢĿ packard wrote on the asgca website.

The jc penney mixed team championship was held on the copperhead course last year. It was the lpga's final game of the year and the only major tournament in which male pga pros paired up with their lpga counterparts. The tournament followed dick chapman's pinehurst system, in which each team member drives first, then the partner plays the second shot from the drive position of the other. They then choose which ball is in the best spot and use that ball to finish the hole, alternating shots until the ball is holed. The last jc penney classic was celebrated in 1999, and john daly and laura davies were the champions.
