The golf de pals course, situated in catalunya's northeast corner, is a timeless classic that snakes through a thick forest of umbrella pine trees adjacent to the playa de pals beach.

while antonio garrido won the spanish open here in 1972 (the first tournament ever played on the pga european tour), the course has more recently been used by the european pga as one of their final qualifying schools.

The 18-hole course, which was designed by fred w. hawtree in 1966, is located on a flat piece of land with outstanding, free draining sandy soil, meaning that the short, tree-lined fairways are never waterlogged, except during the occasional strong mediterranean downpour.

Apart from the woods, the carefully spaced fairway and greenside bunkers, which are most noticeable at the half-dozen doglegged holes on the course, are the key guardians of the golf de pals layout.
