Montecastillo

Montecastillo is one of the most popular golf resorts in the country, having hosted the volvo masters andalucia for five years in a row starting in 1997, when lee westwood won.

Montecastillo is spain's version to wentworth in england, with its elegant late 19th century el castillo clubhouse featuring modern crenellated walls. montecastillo is located on a 400-acre property that also includes indoor and outdoor swimming pools, tennis courts, football grounds, a five-star hotel, and villas overlooking the 18th hole of the golf course.

Montecastillo was designed by jack nicklaus in 1992 and is located in the heart of the country's major sherry and brandy production area. it's a long, challenging course that's thoughtfully routed over rolling andalucian terrain. All is set out very plainly in front of you in traditional nickalus layout, making it playable for golfers of all abilities, providing they use the right tee at any hole, of course!

Montecastillo is a beautiful course with some tough holes, and many visitors rely on buggies to get around the long, uphill or downhill walks from green to tees, particularly on the back nine.
