Guadalhorce Golf Club

Spain

The Guadalhorce golf course was originally designed by Kosti Kuronen and was later given a fresh makeover by Miguel Angel Jiminez.

The first nine has an English "parkland" type design, whereas the second has more elevated greens and hillier fairways, making play a little more difficult.

Guadalhorce golf course has a distinctly European feel about it, with its slightly rolling terrain and tricky greens, especially the long green at the 4th.

On the back nine the layout is more American in style with lakes, tropical vegetation and raised greens.

The greens are extremely large and in some cases are shared between two holes, the 6th and the 8th, for example, also the 12th and 16th.

Guadalhorce is situated close to Alhaurin de La Torre and is about 6 km from Malaga airport, within easy reach of the hotels in Fuengirola, Benalmadena and Torremolinos.
