Costa Teguise

Spain

The course at costa teguise golf club is a john harris creation that dates back to the late 1970s, making it one of the famed architect's final projects until his death in 1977. it is located on the volcanic south eastern slopes of lanzarote, between the small town of tahiche and the coastal city of el jablillo.

The holes spread out in two distinct nines from the clubhouse, and with over 3,000 palm trees lining the fairways, there's a true sense of seclusion while playing here, with the next hole only exposed after leaving the green and heading to the next tee box spot.

The course can be played as far as 6,476 meters from the back tees, making it a championship-length course with a slope ranking of 147. With that in mind, golfers on vacation shouldn't plan to take a walk in the sun on a resort-style course, as costa teguise isn't ideally designed for such a game.

The par five 3rd (played from a spectacular elevated tee), the uphill par three 6th (played over a huge black volcanic waste area), and the par four 14th (rated stroke index 2), which includes an immense bunker at the turn in the fairway as it rises up and veers right to the green, are all highlights.
