Royal Cape Golf Club

South Africa

Come and experience the charm of South Africas oldest golf course.

In the Shadow of Table Mountain lays the Royal Cape Golf Club, established in 1885. We are the current hosts of the Cape Town Open and 10 previous South African Opens.

Royal Cape Golf Club is a championship golf course located in Wynberg, Cape Town. The course consists of grassy fairways, tall trees, smooth greens, water features, and challenging bunkers with rather exceptional mountain views.

The clubhouse was built in 1923 with the foundation stone laid by Prince Arthur of Connaught, then Governor General of South Africa. It has since been modernised, but still maintains its original charm.

The practise putting green is surrounded by the Golf Shop, locker rooms, halfway house, a bar, and covered veranda. Facing the course you will find the lounge, Centenary room, and members bar. The clubhouse is often used for functions from dinner parties to larger events. Famous golfers to have graced the Royal Cape fairways include Gary Player, Ernie Els, Mark McNulty, and Trevor Immelman.
