The Lighthouse course at the Lighthouse Golf Resort and Spa is one of three new golf courses that have opened along Bulgaria's Black Sea coast since 2008, the other two being Blacksearama and Thracian cliffs. It's one of two bulgarian tracks in the European Tour properties network, along with the pirin resort in bansko.
The Lighthouse course, constructed by European golf architecture with Ian Woosnam as the star architect, has been planned to compliment the other two gary player-built courses in this section of the Cape Kaliakra landscape, with fairways spread out across many pockets of residential growth and a path that sometimes takes holes towards the cliff tops.
The course is 6,338 meters long from the back markers and has a score of 71. there are five short holes on the course, two on the front nine and three on the back nine. The highest of these par threes, without a doubt, is saved for last, at the 151-meter 17th, where water guards the front right hand side of the course.
Lighthouse proudly organized just the second European Tour golf tournament to be held in bulgaria in september 2018, when the Bulgarian ministry of tourism funded the european tour properties senior classic to commemorate the golf course's tenth anniversary. Magnus Persson Atlevi won the main event, and Ian Woosnam was on hand to invite fellow senior pros and amateur players to several days of mixed competitions.
