The Grove

England

The grove is one of england's newest and most innovative golf course development sites. The course, designed by kyle phillips (the man behind kingsbarns), opened to rave reviews in september 2003 and is now regarded as the best course inside the m25. This isn't your average golf course. It isn't a country club at all, but more a pay-and-play golf course open to the public.

It seems to be a profitable enterprise after more than a decade. It was difficult to envision a course (and facilities) of this caliber without a club and its founders. The grove has drawn a substantial number of pay-and-play visitors, all of whom are welcomed with outstanding friendliness. Both of the employees are dedicated to providing excellent client support and would go out of their way to accommodate your every wish.

We were the first to come here in mid-january 2004, and we were staggered. With all of the mud, the course was in good condition. We'll also go so far as to suggest that the grove's overall condition in mid-winter is superior to that of many top courses in late spring.

Your first thought may be that you've arrived at a new upmarket municipal as you drive up the private road into the "resort." The land itself is uninspiring, with a lot of open space and just a few undulations. However, once you're out on the course, you'll instantly note the high quality and start to recognise the style. Phillips has done an outstanding job of designing a discerning golf course by using the natural contours of the land in an understated manner. The grove's owners, the levy twins, were undoubtedly ecstatic to host the 2006 world golf championships... The american express case made its first visit to the united kingdom, and a certain tiger dominated the field to win the 2006 title.
